Before You Start

Decibyl is a hosted platform. There is nothing to install and nothing to run — you need an account, a browser, and a few decisions made before your first call connects.

An account and a balance

Sign up at app.decibyl.ai.

Note

Add your billing profile (legal name, address, and GSTIN if you have one) before any payment. The GSTIN determines whether you are charged CGST+SGST or IGST, and it is stamped onto the invoice at the moment of payment — it cannot be added to a document already issued. See Billing.

Which models your agent runs on

Two options, and you can mix them per slot — transcription on one arrangement, the language model on another.

Managed is the faster start. BYOK makes sense once volume is high enough that provider pricing matters to you, or when you need a specific model. Set either up in Model Configurations — see Inference providers.

Note

Agents running on your own keys are billed by that provider directly, so their model spend does not appear on the Tokens tab in Decibyl. An empty By model table on an account making calls usually just means BYOK.

How the agent will be reached

Pick whichever fits what you are building — you do not need all three.

Web

A voice widget on your site, or a test call from the builder. Works immediately, no telephony setup. Your browser will ask for microphone permission.

Inbound calls

A phone number people ring. Either connect a number you already own from a supported carrier, or ask us to provision one. See Inbound.

Outbound calls

Your agent dials out, one call at a time or as a campaign. Needs a verified caller ID and, in India, a completed KYC.

If you are calling Indian numbers

Two things gate outbound dialling in India, and both take real time to clear — start them early rather than on the day you want to launch:

• KYC. Submit your business documents under Verification. Carriers will not issue or activate a number without it. The registered address on your incorporation certificate has to match what you enter, exactly.
• DND and calling hours. Do not dial anyone who has not asked to hear from you, and stay inside 9am–9pm. This is TRAI/TCCCPR territory and the exposure is regulatory, not commercial.
